Who is the Schenectady City School District Education Foundation? SCSDEF provides funding to teachers like you to support students and classrooms in Schenectady. The board is made up of current staff members, former Schenectady staff, Schenectady alumni, and community members. Meet our board members here.
What do we do? Since 2006, the Schenectady Education Foundation has awarded grants to Schenectady teachers with a total of over $435,000. Past projects have covered musical instruments, technology, classroom materials, and more! We also honor outstanding graduates, community partners, and the Schenectady Teacher of the Year with our Crystal Apple award give at our annual Education Celebration.
How can we help you? Our 2023-2024 grant cycle will be opening up this fall! Any Schenectady teachers are able to apply for a grant. Check out some ideas of past grant recipients here!
