2015 Outstanding Graduate Award Winner
Bob Pezzano was chosen Outstanding Graduate in 2015 due to his unwavering commitment to the Schenectady City School District. Bob currently serves as chairperson of the Schenectady City School District Athletic Hall of Fame (a position he has held since its 1998 inception).
The Schenectady Athletic Hall of Fame would not be possible without the commitment, dedication and perseverance of Bob Pezzano. He has been the driving force to honor and preserve the tremendous history of athletics and outstanding athletes from the Schenectady City Schools.
Bob graduated from Linton High School in 1968. While at Linton, he played varsity basketball, along with being VP of the Student Council, Junior Class and Key Club.
Bob attended Union College, where he graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree. While at Union he played basketball an co-captained the 1971-72 team.
Bob taught in the Schenectady City School District for 32 years; Linton HS (17 years), Schenectady HS (13 years) & Oneida Middle School (2 years); He served as a teacher leader for many years. While at Linton, he was an assistant basketball coach (nine years) & assistant baseball coach (thirteen years).
Bob was Inducted into the Schenectady City School District Hall of Fame (for lifetime achievement & contributions to one’s community) in 2010.
He was awarded the Francis “Dutch” Howlan Memorial Award in 2010 for outstanding service and dedication to the student/athletes of the state of New York & Section II.
Bob was presented the Golden Apple Award in 2005 for dedicated service to the Schenectady City School District.
