The SCSDEF welcomes you as a new staff member at Schenectady City School District!
Who is the Schenectady City School District Education Foundation? The SCSDEF provides funding to teachers like you to support students and classrooms in Schenectady. The board is made up of current staff members, former Schenectady staff, Schenectady alumni, and community members.
Since 2006, the Schenectady Educational Foundation has awarded grants to Schenectady teachers with a total of over $500,000. Past projects have covered musical instruments, classroom materials, and more! We also honor outstanding graduates, community partners, and the Schenectady Teacher of the Year with our Crystal Apple award given at our annual Education Celebration.
How can we help you? Our 2024-2025 grant cycle will be opening up this fall on October 15! Any Schenectady teachers are able to apply for a grant. Check out some ideas of past grant recipients here!
