Hannaford Supermarkets operates 184 stores in the Northeast, including 51 stores in New York State. Stores are also located in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Hannaford is an active and committed community partner—focusing on fighting hunger, supporting youth development, and helping people live healthier lives. Last year, Hannaford donated $1.7 million for K-12 schools across our five-state region through Hannaford Helps Schools program; and an additional $130,000 for technology access for students in Albany and Schenectady schools. With our donation of $32,000 to the SCSD Education Foundation the district was able to purchase a site license to Pear Deck which made it available to every teacher in the district for the 2021-2022 academic year, Pear Deck is a cloud-based student engagement solution designed to help schools organize synchronous and asynchronous learning, create formative assessments, and monitor participation in real-time. Teachers can create custom courses using interactive questions, polls and quizzes, and collect responses in real-time. Pear Deck’s Instructor-Paced Mode lets educators regulate slides and display student’s replies to class. Using the Teacher Dashboard, educators can check answers and send individual feedback to students. Students can also participate anonymously within a Pear Deck.
