2012 Outstanding Graduate Award Winner

Michael was a Mont Pleasant Graduate, who has had a distinguished service career in the City of Schenectady. He joined the Schenectady Fire Department in 1975, served as Asst. Fire Chief for 10 years, and rose to the rank of Fire Chief. As a leader he modeled the benefits of wellness and fitness with his engagement in snowshoe and marathon competitions and his leadership in the Gore Mountain Ski Patrol. He was one of the heroes engaged in the 9/11 rescue efforts in New York City. Michael also served the community as an adjunct professor at Schenectady City Community College where we was a professor in two disciplines, English and Fire Science.
