Take 110 students on an historic bus/walking tour of Schenectady. Money is for busses and snacks. KWL chart will be used pre and post for assessment.

Purchase 1 mobile magnetic white board staff and 1 wall-mounted music staff. These provide large visual learning aids which will help them develop reading and playing skills.
Barber, Keri: Hamilton $350.00
Several 5th grade teachers will take their students to Valley Cats Day in June. The Valley Cats provide math, English and geography resources for follow up so it is of social and educational value addressing a number of standards. These materials will be used for assessment.
Bernard, Christine: SCLA $205.31
Purchase small kitchen appliances and basic cooking utensils for 7 autistic students in a specialized self-contained classroom so they can develop functional skills. For assessment she will submit a narrative report and pictures.
DeCarr, Rick : Oneida $250.00
Purchase 2 Breakout EDU kits. The kits provide dozens of games for students to use in grades 6-8. He will share with colleagues. They help build and analysis skills and can be used in all subject areas. Success can be measured by normal summative and formative methods and reflection on communications, problem solving and teamwork.

Purchase additional Yamaha keyboards. There are 125 students in the program and existing keyboards are old and should be replaced. Success measured by passing rate and performances such as at the Gala.

Create a reading corner by buying wire baskets to organize books by genre, a rug and a couple of chairs so there is a more encouraging space. Assessment will be done by keeping track of chair use and books selected.
Longe, Lisa: Howe/Woodlawn/PV $347.22
Purchase vibraslap and temple blocks which are needed for the music she is teaching. They will be used in all three spring concerts. Assessment: Observation and concerts.

Best Buddies International requires local chapter presidents to attend annual leadership conference at Indiana U. BB fosters inclusion and building relationships among different students esp. between special needs students and general population $ is for airfare. Assessment: # of students in BB in SHS,# of meaningful friendships,# of inclusive activities held by BB of SHS.
Slater-Johnson,Deanne: Oneida $450.00
Twenty special education students from Oneida and SCLA will attend a field trip to at least two job sites so they can explore job possibilities. They will also have a picnic as part of the day. Purpose is to teach life skills. Assessment through pre and post questionnaires and teacher observations.
