Bergen, Merissa:  Howe   $204.86
Purchase laundry baskets & flashlights for her 25 K students.  Students will sit in and read in the baskets learning about personal space. Helps improve focus and reading skills.

Bernard, Christine & Shaver,Jessica: SCLA  $300.00
Take 8 autistic students to potential places of employment or volunteer work. Students will ID possible vocational interests and learn social skills needed in working with people in the community. $ is for transportation and spending money so they can learn to be consumers.

Bernard, Christine & Shaver,Jessica: SCLA $250.00
She works with 8 autistic students.  Students will develop life skills involved with cooking, planning and budgeting.  Money will be used for cooking supplies.  Reading, writing and math skills will be reinforced.

DeAngelus,Lawrence et. al.: Zoller  $1,000.00
The $2500 request will be added to $5000 they have for the construction of a playground.  This will complete the first stage of construction and will meet the needs of younger children.  Students will be better more focused learners after having had an opportunity to engage in active play.

Irwin, Elizabeth: Pleasant Valley  $394.86                                     Ms. Irwin wants to buy a Luxor reversible magnetic music whiteboard.   She works with 415 students, who will improve their music literacy skills, music notation skills and various music concepts. It will help kinesthetic learners as they study multiple songs. Measurement: tests, performances, etc.

Izzo, Chelsea: Oneida  $578.63
Purchase a balance ball chair, teen wobble chairs, and plastic stools so that students have alternative seating options.  She has found that student like these over sitting in regular chairs and it improves performance.  She will also buy clip boards and “fidgets.” She feels they help students focus better.45 students. She will measure amount of work completed compared to traditional seating arrangements.

Izzo, Jessica et. Al.: Howe $306.96
Students who fidget need more flexibility in their seating in order to be able to focus.  She will buy 6 wobble chairs. Success will be measured by students’ ability to finish their daily work and formal assessments.

Ozemba,Ashley: CPMS  $300.00
Together with the Reading Team bring in the author Erin Billings to discuss  cyber-bullying. She is 20 and graduated from BH-BL. Kids can relate to her and the book.  Assessment: video-taped conferences, anecdotal notes, student posters, etc. Money is for books for 200 students.

Sheridan, Michael et.al: Oneida  $426.99
Create a production studio in the learning Commons where students can create projects in the form of videos ,podcasts, etc.  Students will learn collaboration, creativity, research skills, use of technology for problem-solving, innovation, etc. Measurement: rubrics and visual products.

Soto, Carlos & Workman, Elijah & Macey, Laura: SCLA $875.00
Twenty five students will have dinner at a local restaurant. Students will learn how to interact, engage in an interview. Assessment: observation with rubrics and a one page student written   summary of the experience.

Vacca, Leanne: CPMS   $550.00
She wants to buy two sets of books (The Crossover and Al Capone Does My Shirts) for 6th grade reading and ELA classes. Read alouds are key to learning reading. Assessment will be based on AIMSweb data.  Student writing will also be used as will student projects on both books.
